Privacy Policy

Aura VTC (referred to as 'Aura', 'we', 'us' or 'our') is a non-commercial virtual trucking company operating on the TruckersMP platform for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. This website is our official community website.

We are a hobbyist gaming community run by volunteers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SCS Software, TruckersMP, Valve Corporation, Discord Inc., or any other company mentioned on this site.

We do not ask you to create an account, and this website has no registration, contact, or application forms. Applications to join Aura are handled entirely through our Discord server, where Discord's own privacy policy applies.

The only categories of data involved when you browse this site are:

• Locally stored preferences: your chosen display language is saved in your browser's local storage under the key aura-locale. It never leaves your device, and we cannot read it.
• Server and hosting logs: like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records technical request data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, and a timestamp. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults.
• Publicly available TruckersMP data: our Team and Event pages display information that TruckersMP already publishes through its public API. See section 6.

We do not collect names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, or payment details through this website.

• To display the site correctly in your preferred language.
• To keep the website secure, available, and free from abuse.
• To diagnose technical problems and improve the site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not run any third-party analytics service such as Google Analytics.

We use a single local storage entry (aura-locale) to remember your language choice between visits. This is strictly functional. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings, and the site will simply fall back to English.

Some parts of the site rely on third parties, and their own privacy policies apply when you interact with them:

• TruckersMP — our server fetches public VTC, member, and event data from the TruckersMP API so that your browser does not have to contact them directly.
• Discord — our community, applications, and support all run on Discord. Following our invite takes you onto their platform.
• YouTube / Google — our media links point to YouTube, and visiting them is subject to Google's policies.
• Our hosting provider, which processes the server logs described above.

Our Team page shows TruckersMP usernames, avatars, roles, and join dates for members of Aura VTC. This information is retrieved from the public TruckersMP API and is already publicly visible on the TruckersMP website.

If you are a current or former Aura member and would like your details removed from this website, contact the management team on our Discord server and we will remove them. Please note that we cannot remove information hosted by TruckersMP itself — that request must be made to TruckersMP.

Your language preference stays in your browser until you clear it. Server logs are kept only for as long as our hosting provider retains them for operational and security purposes, and are not used for anything else. Public TruckersMP data is fetched on demand and cached briefly (around five minutes) to reduce load on the TruckersMP API.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, including under the EU and UK GDPR.

Because we operate no accounts and collect no contact details, in most cases we hold nothing that identifies you. If you believe we do hold information about you, contact us on Discord and our volunteer team will respond as quickly as it reasonably can.

Aura VTC requires members to be at least 16 years old. This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The site is served over HTTPS and holds no user database, no passwords, and no payment information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but the deliberately limited nature of this site means there is very little to expose.

Aura VTC is an international community and this site may be accessed from anywhere in the world. By using it, you understand that the technical data described above may be processed in the country where our hosting provider operates.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature or service. The date shown at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision, and significant changes will be announced in our Discord server.
